We are all such busy people in this day and age. It can be so hard to align your own schedule with everyone else’s schedules, so that you may actually have a moment to spend time with them! It can be super upsetting canceling plans with your own family so that you can finally see that friend, or finally complete that task, or finally take that nap… We as a society spread ourselves so thin! I personally am tired of it!!!! So, what am I going to do about it?
Write stuff down…
Physically write down your plans for the week, and take your life day by day! I have found that I have a million and one things floating around in my brain, yet I always feel like I have accomplished nothing. If you can relate to this, let’s think of a solution together… How about writing it down, completing it, and crossing it off! I feel like I need at least 5 separate planners for my life in order to stay organized! Right now I and juggling school, religion, three part time jobs, and my passion for social media. Let’s not forget about the other extremely important pieces of my life puzzle!
Put family first…
I have the most amazing family, friends, peers, coworkers, etc… I know there are people out there, that I don’t even know yet!!! But, I need to make time for them!!! Is it fair to put family on the back burner? No… Do we all do it from time to time? Yes… because they love us and understand how busy we are.
My biggest issue is that I fail myself and my family when I don’t schedule my time wisely! Today I laid around all morning, reading and learning and experimenting with social media… I had a blast! But what the heck… The apartment is a mess, clothes need washed, dinner needs made, homework needs done, a letter needs delivered, and our dog needs all my love and attention at any given moment! So what did I decide to do?
It felt so good to put everything last and visit my sweet grandmother. She needs company and loves spoiling me when I visit! She truly loves to entertain and care for people, especially her only baby girl grandchild. Not only did we visit, but we bonded over ice cream and watched the news. Not once did I think “I have so much I could be accomplishing right now…” because it just really felt good to relax and clear my head. When I’m at my grandma’s house, I just feel like a little kid again.
I think it is healthy for us to put ourselves in relaxing care free positions now and then! I am a strong believer in passion and drive and motivation, but I’m also a family gal. I always know I’m going to get myself into a funk if I don’t see my family and closest friends for a while… Yet, it happens too often.
Here’s my short and sweet conclusion: Prioritize, even if that means penciling family into your various planners. You can sleep when you’re dead!
Enjoy life’s pleasures,
